Jorge Jesus’ Al-Hilal drew with Damak (1-1) in the seventh round of the Saudi Arabian Football Championship and could lose their lead this Thursday.
In Abha, Brazilian Malcolm gave Jorge Jesus’ side the lead after just nine minutes, a lead that remained until the 68th minute when Romanian Nicolae Stanciu restored parity following the introduction of Portugal’s Ruben Neves for the visitors.
With this result, Al Hilal now have 17 points compared to 16 for Al Taawon (second) and Al Ettifaq (third), all of whom have played seven games.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Al Ittihad are fourth with 15 points and will host Al Fateh this Thursday, so they have a chance to isolate themselves at the top if they triumph.
