The European champions, who beat HC Braga in the semi-final of the Final Four on Saturday, reached the break with a 1-1 draw with the Catalans, with Gonçalo Alves scoring for the blue and white in the 7th minute. and Jordi Burgaia for the hosts in the 9th minute.
In the second half, Hélder Núñez in the 39th minute and Gonçalo Alves in the 43rd minute gave the Porto fans a new lead, but Burgaia in the 48th minute and Gerard Teixido in the 49th minute restored the tie, which became soon after Rafa broke the ball in the 49th minute before Helder Nunez recorded the result in the 50th minute.
FC Porto succeeded Valongo as winners of the competition and won the second Continental Cup in their history after lifting the trophy in 1986.
In addition to the Dragons and Valongo, the competition was also won by four other Portuguese teams, namely Benfica (three times), Sporting (twice), OC de Barcelos (once) and Oliveirense (once) .
