The 52-year-old woman, who last December killed her son with seven stab wounds due to disorder in her home, begins trial for murder this Wednesday in the Setúbal court.

On the night of December 20, 2022, when Maria Odete Ramos arrived home in Moita and saw that the premises were completely untidy, she did not react well and began breaking dishes in the kitchen and next to the bedroom, as well as Diogo Cruz, her 20-year-old Diogo Cruz. old son. The young man was with his girlfriend at the time.

The defendant stated that she was tired of putting up with her son and he had to leave home. When Diogo threatened to call the police, his mother showed no concern. He went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, ran up to his son and started cutting him.

The young man’s pregnant girlfriend tried to save him when faced with this situation, but she was threatened and decided to run away.

Due to screams coming from inside the house, several neighbors arrived on the scene and tried to stop the woman.

It was the neighbor who managed to stop Maria Odeta Ramos from continuing to attack her son. He stabbed him seven times in total. She went into hiding after committing the crime but was eventually arrested by the PSP.

Diogo Cruz died on the way to the hospital due to neck and chest injuries.

Maria Odete Ramos and Diogo Cruz lived together for two years, and their relationship was marked by conflict and violence. As the investigation established, the son did not study, did not work and lived at the expense of his mother.
