In Romania, police are looking for a pickpocket who attacked a Lisbon tram.

An investigation by an anti-pickpocket team from the PSP in Lisbon led to the discovery and arrest of a Romanian woman detained at the airport in Bucharest, the capital of her country of origin, for a spate of crimes committed on Lisbon trams.

The team, part of the Criminal Investigation Department, opened two investigations into 11 crimes in just three months. During this period, the woman took possession of a total of 3,630 euros.

After the Romanian suspect left Portuguese territory, the PSP rushed to collect evidence and request a European arrest warrant.

The woman was arrested by Romanian police and handed over to the judicial police. Having appeared in court in Lisbon, he is already in preventive detention.
