A young 20-year-old tattoo artist with dual German-Israeli citizenship was kidnapped by Hamas during a party in Israel this Saturday morning.
The Islamic group infiltrated and took dozens of hostages, including Shani Luk. The tattoo artist’s family knew the young woman was at the party and tried unsuccessfully to contact her.
The cousin later saw footage of Hamas militants advancing and capturing Shani Luk. The girl’s parents immediately recognized her by her tattoos and dreadlocks in her hair.
Israel woke up Saturday morning after a surprise attack by the Islamic group Hamas fired rockets into the Gaza Strip. The renewed war has already resulted in the deaths of more than 600 people, including more than 300 Israelis.
The mother published an appeal on social networks
The young woman’s mother posted a video on social networks asking for help finding her daughter.
“My daughter Shani Nicole Luk, a German citizen, was kidnapped along with a group of tourists in southern Israel by Hamas militants,” he said.
The woman confirms that the family also received widely circulated images showing the young woman being attacked, stepped on and spat on by armed men.
“We were sent a video in which I clearly recognize my daughter unconscious in a car with Palestinians. I ask for any help or news. Thank you,” the mother said in a video published by Reuters.
