Penalties for new radars with glitches during the archiving process

The National Road Safety Authority will archive speeding fines using new radars that show measurement errors, as was the case with the device installed on the EN234 highway in Nelas, where trucks were caught at 193 km/h.

ANSR says such archiving will apply to violations recorded in September, but only on radars detecting read errors that are still subject to “monitoring,” without disclosing exactly how many.

“ANSR confirms that specific problems arose due to a technical failure, which has already been resolved, therefore the protocols on administrative offenses are in the process of archiving. All radars installed in similar conditions were also checked,” the department assures.
