Brazilian DJ records Hamas attack on Tel Aviv music festival

Brazilian DJ Juarez Petrillo, father of DJs Alok and Bhaskar were attending an electronic music festival that was attacked by the Palestinian Islamic group Hamas, in Tel Aviv, Israel. The DJ captured on video the moment the armed group arrived. When the rockets exploded, festival-goers fled in panic.

According to a Brazilian newspaper G1, the DJ managed to escape from the festival in time. Juarez Petrilloa is in a bunker 20 km from the site of the attack and is waiting to be returned to Brazil. The repatriation flight was scheduled for this Sunday but had to be canceled and a new date has not yet been announced.

A young woman who came to the festival to celebrate her 26th birthday also managed to escape reprisals. “I heard shots from all sides, they were shooting at us from both sides. Everyone was running and didn’t know what to do. It was complete chaos,” Arik Nani told Reuters.

“A lot of terrible things happened along the way: people I wanted to help but couldn’t. People who are left behind, people who need something,” he said.

Thousands of young people took part in a nature festival near Kibbutz Re’im, near Gaza, which became one of the first targets of Palestinian snipers who entered Israel early Saturday morning. A spokesman for ZAKA, a volunteer group that helps with search and rescue operations after terrorist attacks and other disasters, told media they have already recovered more than 260 bodies from the site of a music festival in southern Israel that was attacked by terrorists.
