Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission President Omar Alie Touray arrives in Praia on Tuesday for a four-day visit as part of the organisation’s 8th Sustainable Energy Forum.
The regional event will take place on Wednesday and Thursday in Praia, together with a fair dedicated to the sector, with 94 exhibition stands, an area dedicated to electric vehicles and three conference rooms.
Omar Alieu Turay lands in Praia on Tuesday, and the public program will begin on Wednesday, and he will be received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Rui Figueiredo Soares.
On the same day, the President of the ECOWAS Commission will meet with the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, with whom he will unveil a plaque for the new headquarters of the ECOWAS Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.
The center has been operating since 2010 in Praia and will have new premises.

Back on Thursday, the regional leader will deliver humanitarian aid to the government of Cape Verde and conclude the public program with a courtesy visit to the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves.
