The more pessimistic IMF forecasts Portugal’s economy will grow by 2.3% this year and 1.5% in 2024.

The IMF forecasts the Portuguese economy to grow at 2.3% this year and 1.5% in 2024, and for inflation to fall to 5.3% in 2023 and 3.4% in 2024, it was announced in Tuesday at the fair.

In updating global economic forecasts released on Tuesday as part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meetings this week in Marrakesh, Morocco, the institute takes a slightly more pessimistic view of the situation than in June. Portuguese economic growth, but more optimistic about the evolution of inflation this year.

In June, the institution forecast Portugal’s economy to grow at 2.6% this year and 1.8% in 2024, and for inflation to fall from 8.1% in 2022 to 5.6% in 2023 and 3.1 % next year.
