Championship organizers announced on Tuesday that the Algarve International Circuit (AIA) in Portimão will host the first of eight MotoE World Cup races for electric motorcycles in 2024.
The race in Portugal will be the first of eight rounds and is scheduled for March 22 and 23 and will coincide with the second race of the MotoGP World Championship, which will take place on the same weekend in Portimao.
According to the provisional calendar published today, the French Grand Prix on May 10 and 11 follows the Catalan Grand Prix on the 24th and 25th of the same month and the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello on the 30th. May to June 1.
This is followed by the Dutch Grand Prix on June 28 and 29, the German Grand Prix on July 5 and 6 and the Austrian Grand Prix on August 16 and 17.
The MotoE Championship will end on September 6th and 7th in San Marino.
This will be the first time Portugal will host a race in this championship, which will feature nine teams and 18 riders riding electric motorcycles.
Portugal became the eighth country to host the competition. Each event consists of two different races.
The AIA will also conduct two pre-season tests.
