The PNP is attempting to locate and arrest a man known to be a foreigner but undocumented who fatally struck a 32-year-old man on the Southern Highway (A2) early this Friday morning. heading from south to north, near Corroyos, Seixal, and then fled on foot along the highway.
An official source at GNR said: CM The accident occurred at 01:09 in the area of the 9th kilometer of the A2 highway.
“The first collision occurs with a car that stopped in the middle lane,” the same source explained.
Several drivers stopped on the side of the road to help, and it was from one of these cars that the deceased 32-year-old man got out.
“He was hit by another car containing two men, both foreigners,” the PNP spokesman added.
When he realized he had fatally struck a person, the driver of that car fled on foot. The friend did not run away, and it was through him that the People’s Republic learned that the culprit in the victim’s death was a foreigner. Both were undocumented.
The accident cut the center and right-hand lanes of the A2 motorway near the scene until 9.50am this Friday. Queues of several kilometers formed, making it even more difficult to enter Lisbon via the 25 April Bridge.
