Chegi’s deputy in the Braga Municipal Assembly, Sergio Junior, was arrested as part of an investigation into the illegal trafficking of prohibited substances and methods, sources connected to the process told Lusa this Wednesday.
Chega’s press service contacted Lusa and sent an answer for the future.
“We are collecting data to understand what happened, and only then will we have a reaction,” the source said.
Sergio Junior was arrested on Tuesday by the Braga Police Department as part of an investigation into illegal trafficking of prohibited substances and methods.
The PSP executed a house search warrant and a search of non-residential premises in the city of Braga, resulting in the arrest of this municipal deputy. As a result of the operation, a pistol, a baton, brass knuckles, an electric weapon and 38,105 euros were also seized.
“Several tablets and ampoules for injection of anabolic androgenic steroid substances (doping substances) were also seized, as well as various materials used in the administration of this type of substance,” the PSP said in a statement.
The 51-year-old detainee will be present in the Braga court this Wednesday for the first judicial interrogation and the application of appropriate coercive measures.
Lusa also tried to listen to the head of the Braga do Cega district, Filipe Melo, also a municipal deputy, but without success.
