Unemployment increases by 2,920 people in the BAC and by 694 people in Navarra, in October

He unemployment registered has increased by October in 2,920 people in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) and in 694 Navarra, which represents an increase of 2.74% and 2.37% respectively compared to the previous month, according to data provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social economy.

Basque Country closed last October with 109,645 unemployed registered in the public employment service, which means 2920 more than in Septemberthat is, 2.74%, above the state average of 1.36%, according to data made public this Friday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy and the Department of Labor and Employment of the Basque Government.

Compared to October 2022, however, the number of unemployed has been reduced by 2,100 people, which represents a drop of 1.88%, the lowest of all the autonomous communities. The state average has dropped 5.33%.

Last month was the oOctober with the lowest number of registered unemployed since 2008, as highlighted by the Basque Government. The three Basque territories increased their number of unemployed compared to the previous month, with 1,782 more unemployed in Bizkaia, 687 more in Gipuzkoa and 451 more in Álava. Both the provinces of Biscay and Gipuzkoa decreased the number of unemployed people compared to last year, with 1,541 and 608 fewer unemployed people, respectively. The number of contributors exceeds that registered by Social Security by 18,978 people in October 2022, which represents an increase in membership of 1.92%.

In relation to the previous year, there is a decrease of 4.08%, that is, 1,275 fewer unemployed people, according to data from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, which reflects an increase in unemployment in October in practically all of the communities in relation to the previous month but a decrease compared to October 2022.

Of the total unemployed in Navarra, 11,750 are men and 18,250 women. Of them, 1,509 men and 1,401 women are under 25 years old.

The membership to Social Security in Navarre has grown by 2025 members0.66% more since September, and stands at 308,159 contributors.

Compared to October 2022, there are 5,967 more contributors, which represents an increase of 1.97% year-on-year.
