The PNP has arrested a man suspected of armed robbery of a convenience store in Lusana.
After the incident, the retail establishment was closed.
A man entered the premises armed with a firearm and asked for money from the drawers.
A member of staff immediately raised the alarm and notified GNR.
Realizing that authorities had been alerted, the loner left the area and fled in a car parked near the area.
The alarm was raised at 17:30 this Thursday.
The minimarket, which was not damaged in any way, was closed by the State Police.
The Center’s judicial police were called, questioned the employees and conducted an investigation until almost 21:00.
“GNR patrols responded to the scene and received information from some customers regarding the characteristics of the vehicle in which the suspect fled, prompting one of the patrols heading to the scene to intercept the vehicle and begin a pursuit, which culminated without incident, in the municipality of Vila Nova -de Poires and with the arrest of the suspect, who was the only resident,” said a source in the PNP, who regarded the case as an “attempted armed robbery”, without specifying whether the firearm and any type of weapon were stolen material.
Because it was a gun crime, a Center judge was called and took over the investigation.
ABOUT CM has discovered that a man arrested late Thursday may have a history of crimes of the same nature.
Authorities are now trying to determine whether the lone man is the same person who operated several commercial premises inland, one of which was a service station in the Seiya area.
