The Web Summit technology and innovation conference, which takes place in Lisbon from Monday to Thursday, will lead to traffic restrictions, especially on arteries in the Parc das Nações parish, the Public Security Police (PSP) warned this Friday.
In a statement, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command indicated that the restrictions related to the event, held in the Altice Arena pavilion and in the spaces of the FIL – Feira Internacional de Lisboa, in the Parque das Nações, began on October 31 and will last until October 21. , from November.
The PSP will keep an eye on what’s going on.
During the four days of the web summit, traffic will be closed throughout the entire Alameda dos Oceanos (only for emergency vehicles in the north/south direction between Rotonda dos Vice Reis and Rua Mar da Cina) and on Avenida do Indico between Alameda. dos Oceanos and Avenida Dom João II, where access to the park will be guaranteed, as well as loading and unloading operations.
During these days, Rua do Bojador will also be closed to traffic between Rotonda do Bojador and Alameda dos Oceanos, while Avenida da Boa Esperança will be restricted to traffic between the Vice Reis roundabout and the Myriad Hotel, and traffic will be limited to authorized vehicles only.
Police have already recorded two periods of traffic restrictions: first from October 31 to November 8.
From Thursday to Friday, PSP closes traffic on Alameda dos Oceanos south/north, between the ZAC access gate and the Rotunda dos Vice Reis; on Rua do Bojador between Rotonda do Bojador and Alameda do Oceanos; and Avenida do Atlántico.
“In the period from November 17 to 21, all roads will gradually be reopened and restored,” the message says.
During the technology summit, PSP advised citizens to prioritize the use of public transport. If they park on public roads, they must ensure that they leave the vehicle in such a way that others can travel on the road, that they leave it locked and that there are no valuables inside.
“Do not display or carry valuable items or large sums of money with you; If you carry backpacks or suitcases, always keep them closed and close to the front of your body; and follow police orders when fully available. Be a facilitator of police actions and do not jeopardize your safety and the safety of other citizens,” PSP said, also asking event participants to review the list of prohibited items through the Web Summit app.
