This Wednesday, Sporting Braga’s Champions League rivals announced the departure of coach Urs Fischer due to poor results. Marco Gothe takes on the role of head coach on an interim basis, while 32-year-old Marie-Louise Eta joins the team as an assistant.
The former German international footballer played under her maiden nickname Bagehorn for most of her career. Along the way, he won the Champions League with Turbine Potsdam from Germany. As a coach, Marie-Louise Eta managed youth teams, including the Union Berlin U19 team.
The club is in last place in the German championship and has lost three of its four matches in the group stage of the Champions League. In Group C, Real Madrid leads with 12 points, followed by Napoli with seven. Sporting Braga have three points, while Union Berlin have only one.
