This Friday morning, activists of the Student Climate Strike closed one of the buildings of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FCSH) of the University of Nova de Lisboa.
In a statement, the students said they “barricaded the doors (…) to protest fossil fuels.” Protesters are demanding a “phase out of fossil fuels by 2030 and a transition to 100% renewable, affordable electricity by 2025.”
On Wednesday, the PSP detained three students of the movement during a lecture on climate action at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Lisbon. On Monday, he detained six activists who intended to spend the night at the FTSSH.
