The 23-year-old student died of heatstroke on Friday before the first concert at Rio de Janeiro’s Nilton Santos Stadium by American singer Taylor Swift, who mourned her death this Saturday.
According to statements by a friend of the young woman to the newspaper O Globo, Ana Clara Machado studied psychology at the Federal University of Rondonópolis. He died after feeling unwell due to the heat.
On her Instagram account, Taylor Swift confirmed the death, said she was shocked by what happened, and expressed condolences to her follower’s family and friends.
According to the same newspaper, the weather station of the Alerta Rio system recorded in Guaratiba, in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro, the biggest heat sensation since 2014, when marking began. There on Friday morning the heat reached 59.3 degrees.
