The President of the Medical Association accuses the administration of several hospitals in the country of irresponsibility for not informing the population about problems arising in various services.
“There is a lack of transparency about what is being done in hospitals,” Carlos Cortés told Rádio Renascença, demanding transparency from the government and hospital administrators. The leader denounces that a lack of information is giving the public a false sense of security and warns that the departure of the executive branch does not eliminate the difficulties. “Even though we are in an institutional period of suspension, people still have concerns that need to be answered,” he said.
The president asks the Ministry of Health to “tell the truth” so that hospitals are ready, and fears that the scenario will be “even more serious” in December. SNS executive management announced on Friday 37 emergencies that will be subject to action next week (see opposite).
