I have already dedicated eight years of my life to public affairs, but I am always ready to serve the country, be it in government positions or in academic life,” the minister said when asked about his readiness, taking into account that he expressed support for the candidate Pedro Nuno Santos to become the next Secretary General of the PS.
As for how he would react if he were offered to remain in office, João Costa said it was still “speculation”, stressing that he would prefer the country not to go through the current political crisis, especially since there is a program which needs to be completed. until 2026.
Despite regretting the current political situation, João Costa considered António Costa’s resignation announcement “very worthy”.
The minister, who supports the candidacy of Pedro Nuno Santos for the post of PS secretary general, said that he is “ready to cooperate with him in everything that is necessary”, ensuring that he also has energy that “can be put to good use, be it in government functions , whether in other roles or in my life as a teacher.”
