The 19-year-old was arrested early this Sunday for disobeying a stop order and for hitting a police officer in Lisbon. The driver had blood alcohol level (KLA) 1.2 g/l, which is considered a crime.
According to the statement, traffic police were carrying out a traffic control operation on Avenida on July 24 when a young woman disobeyed an order to stop one of the police officers and ran over him. The driver was later intercepted on Avenida Infante Santo.
The downed police officer was taken to a San Jose hospital for treatment and discharged on Sunday evening.
The young woman was notified to appear in court on Monday and released.
