The woman arrested on the 2nd in the municipality of Idanha a Nova on suspicion of committing the crime of qualified murder in the attempt on her partner will be held in pre-trial detention.
The information was released by the Public Ministry (MP) of Castelo Branco in a note published on the official website of this department on the Internet.
The 40-year-old woman was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Guarda Judicial Police in early November on suspicion of committing the crime against her 47-year-old partner.
“There is strong evidence that the defendant, on November 2, 2023, in the municipality of Idanha a Nova, at an unspecified time, had a disagreement with the injured party, with whom she maintained a relationship similar to that of a spouse “for unknown reasons,” it says note.
The deputy adds that “the defendant took a kitchen knife with a blade longer than 15 cm and stabbed the victim in the abdomen, causing abdominal trauma with a ruptured liver, requiring surgery.”
After her arrest, the next day the woman was subjected to her first judicial interrogation.
“Based on the results of the interrogation, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, a preventive measure in the form of coercion was applied to the defendant.”
The investigation continues under the leadership of the deputy from Castelo Branco with the assistance of PS da Guarda.
