Ex-boyfriend of missing pregnant woman in Mourtos cleans house after police intervene in case

The apartment of the main suspect in the disappearance of a pregnant woman missing in Mourtos for more than a month and a half has reportedly undergone a deep cleaning after the case was reported to authorities.

Judicial police found traces of disinfectants in the house of Fernando Valente, the place where he was allegedly with Monica Silva on the night of her disappearance.

Monica’s telephone conversation with her eldest son was considered the key moment in the case. For what CM As it turned out, the call allowed the inspectors to reach Fernando’s apartment in Torreira. The woman told her son that she would arrive within ten minutes – the time it took to get from her house to the suspect’s house.

Fernando Valente was being held on Saturday on suspicion of qualified murder, desecration of a corpse and aggravated abortion.

During the interrogation, which ended last Friday, Monica’s ex-boyfriend was unable to explain to the criminal judge why he turned off his cell phone on the same day that Monica Silva’s cell phone was turned off.

The 33-year-old woman, who was seven months pregnant, was last seen on October 3 when she left home for a pregnancy ultrasound and shortly after called her son to say she was coming home, which did not happen.
