Axl Rose, lead singer of Guns N’ Roses, was accused of sexual assault this Wednesday by a former model, according to a New York court case cited by Rolling Stone magazine.
Sheila Kennedy, a former Penthouse model, says she met the singer at a New York nightclub in 1989. The woman says that that night Rose molested her in the artist’s room.

Kennedy says a friend invited her to meet the group. After talking for a few moments, the singer invited her to a party at the hotel.
The complainant claims her friend was not invited because Rose said she was “not good enough.” Kennedy went to the hotel after apologizing to her friend.
In the room, where presenter Riki Rachtman was also present, guests were treated to cocaine and alcohol. After Kennedy left the bathroom, Rose “pushed her against the wall and kissed her,” the indictment says.
“Kennedy found Rose attractive and did not mind the interaction. She admitted that she slept with him.”
However, he did not consent to the sexual encounters he later had with Rose. When only Rose, Rachtman, Kennedy and another model were left in the room, Rose began to have sex with the model.
The woman describes how she felt uncomfortable because Rose was “aggressive” towards the model he was working with and left the room.
After leaving, he heard glass breaking and Rose being insulted. The vocalist went out into the corridor and found Kennedy. Upset, according to the prosecution, he dragged the model “by the hair” and left her bleeding on her knees.
In the bedroom, the singer threw the victim onto the bed and tied his hands behind his head. “Kennedy lay in bed with her hands tied, bloodied, vulnerable and alone with Rose, who was angry. He treated her like sexual property,” the indictment states.
The woman would have stayed in bed because she was afraid of the outcome of events if she had fought back her attacker.
Prosecutors allege the alleged victim suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and suffered whenever she heard the name Rose or a Guns N’ Roses song. Kennedy also suffered from anxiety and depression after the attack, which threatened his career.
Rose has been accused of domestic violence several times in the past. The case was made possible by the Adult Survivor Act, a New York law that gives attackers the opportunity to sue even if the statute of limitations has expired.
The same law motivated the complaint Anna Martemucci, who accuses Portuguese Nuno Lopez of raping her.
