The unions are waiting for information about “what is the company’s plan, what is the viability that there will be, whether to continue betting on Navarra or not and what is going to be done with the aid packages”, which must be linked to employment .
The Siemens Gamesa works council has shown its confidence in the meetings that the social representation and the Spanish and Navarrese governments are holding with the company’s management, although it has been “cautious” about the result of these contacts.
Loli Herrera, a member of the Gamesa works council and the UGT union section at Siemens Energy, told the media that they were waiting for the appearance of the company’s management last Tuesday, but, “to our surprise , has pointed out almost nothing”, except for a spending cut of 400 million euros and a road plan with restructuring.
Herrera, who recalled that the Navarrese Minister of Industry, Mikel Irujo, has a new meeting this Friday with the CEO of Siemens Gamesa, commented that the unions trust “that all the effort that all parties are making will finally be reflected in an agreement that links employment to the Community and to the work centers that we have in Spain”.
