Cristiano Ronaldo was unstoppable, scoring twice in Al Nasr’s 3-0 win over Al Ahdoud on Friday and scoring a stunning run of goals in the Saudi Arabian league.
The team, coached by Luis Castro, with CR7 and Otavio in the starting line-up, dominated the match from the first minute and took the lead through Samir Al-Nahei (13′). Al-Ahdoud, whose attack included former Casa Pia Savior Godwin, did claim a penalty but after consulting the video referee early in the game, it was ruled offside.
In the second half, it was Cristiano Ronaldo’s turn to take the lead. At first he saw a goal (with a hat) disallowed for offside, but two minutes later he made it 2-0, scoring after controlling the ball and taking a shot at goal. Encouraged, CR7 went looking for more and scored a superb 80ft hat from outside the box. It was the 15th goal in the Saudi League in 13 games. He also has seven assists.
With this triumph, Al-Nasr reduces the difference to one point and puts pressure on leader Al-Hilal, coached by Jorge Jesus, who will only face Al-Hazm today (15:00).
