Compared to the previous quarter, GDP only grew by 0.2%, one of the worst quarter-on-quarter data since the pandemic.
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the BAC grew 1.6% last summer, the same percentage as employment, which increased in the autonomous community by 15,326 net jobs in one year.
These data confirm the advance of the accounts carried out in October by the Basque Institute of Statistics-Eustat when it already indicated this growth of the Basque economy, one tenth lower than the latest macroeconomic scenario foreseen by the Basque Government.
This increase confirms a stabilization of GDP after six quarters of continued slowdown, from 7.2% year-on-year growth at the beginning of 2022 to 1.5% in the previous quarter.
GDP growth of 0.2% is also confirmed compared to the previous quarter, one of the worst quarterly data since the pandemic that shows a cooling of the economy, especially due to the progress of the industry, which suffered a decline in compared to the previous three months of 2.4%.
