On Sunday, PS/Açores leader Vasco Cordeiro announced his support for Pedro Nuno Santos in the internal elections for Socialist secretary general, believing that he is the candidate best equipped to “promote and implement the changes that the PS needs.” .

The direct socialist elections on December 15 and 16 feature three candidates: the current Minister of the Interior, José Luis Carneiro; former infrastructure minister Pedro Nuno Santos; and Daniel Adrian, leader of the minority line opposing current Secretary General António Costa.
