The Judicial Police (PJ), in close cooperation with the Brazilian Federal Police, discovered a three-month-old child who had been transported from São Paulo (Brazil) to Valongo.
The 50-year-old Portuguese businessman with no criminal record was arrested on Monday by Brazil’s Federal Police for crimes related to human trafficking and forgery or forgery of documents. Delivered to the competent authorities, he was placed in preventive detention.

The child, who arrived in Portugal in October, was found in good health by police and taken to an orphanage.
The detainee’s partner, 44 years old, also a businessman and also not convicted, was charged and interrogated.
