On Tuesday, a family from Montijo was evicted by court order from the home they had lived in for more than 30 years, in the Juventude Sarilense sports complex, in exchange for, among other things, cleaning and washing the players’ clothes. “It’s cold and rainy now. I’m completely miserable. “I’m going to have the worst Christmas of my life,” says 58-year-old Alda Marquez with tears running down her face.
Together with his 67-year-old brother José, who has tuberculosis, and his 35-year-old son André, who is disabled, he now finds himself homeless. He complains about the club’s management, which five years ago refused his services and “cut off the water and electricity.”
Alda lives on 306 euros from her widow’s pension and 10.46 euros from her son Andre’s social income. The club’s management says that the family has always lived without water and electricity, and guarantees that they have built a house to live in for a year, without expenses, and then with an income of 150 euros, but they refused.
The court ordered the club to pay Alda Marquez €6,135.24, which is available today. Alda has applied for social housing at the Montijo Chamber but is still waiting. ABOUT CM asked questions to the municipality, but received no answer.
