This Wednesday, Estoril Praia beat Porto 3-1 in the second round of Group D of the Football League Cup, qualifying for the final four of the tournament and beating the holders of the trophy.
After defeating Leixoes of the II League 2-1 in the first round, the “line” team were one triumph away from securing their presence in the decisive phase of the competition and started well, opening the scoring in 22 minutes through Cassiano.
Porto responded in the first half with a Pepe goal in the 34th minute, and Canarinhos’ triumph came when the draw seemed to prevail, with Rafik Gitane making it 2-1 in the 90th minute. +1, and João Carlos closed the score – 90+6, converting a penalty.
