The game between Rabo de Peixe and Santa Clara for the Ponta Delgada Azores Football Association Youth Championship was marked by aggression on the pitch.
Last Saturday, the 2nd, in the second half, the referee showed a red card directly to the home team’s player. Video that CM had access, shows the almost immediate reaction of Leandro Sousa, number 13, who hits an opponent who falls onto the field.
There is confusion on the field as several players from both teams exchange pennants and there is pushing and shoving. Rabo de Peixe’s number nine, António Carreiro, can still be seen in the above-mentioned video kicking an opponent who is lying on the field. The home team’s striker also saw straight red.
The game did not end without a third penalty, including for the hosts, who lost to Santa Clara with a score of 0:2.
