Two women, aged around 40 and 70, died this Thursday when the car they were traveling in crashed and fell into the sea in Cabo Raso, Cascais. Two minors, 13 and 16 years old, were rescued alive.
A source in the National Maritime Administration confirmed CM that the fatal victims are the mother and grandmother of the young people. The first analysis concluded that the mother was driving the car.
The bodies were taken to the Gia Cemetery mortuary for autopsy.
The alarm signal came from a fisherman around 8 am. The two young men managed to escape from the vehicle under their own power with minor injuries and signs of hypothermia, Marine authorities said. They were taken to the Cascais hospital.
There were 23 responders at the scene, supported by eight vehicles and a NCIS vessel.
The judicial police were called in to investigate the cause of the incident.
