Magazine Team elected North American singer Taylor Swift as Person of the Year for 2023. On Wednesday, the magazine’s editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs justified his choice on the artist’s “success” and “universe of creativity.”
“Her success extended beyond the arena itself. (…) She was simply omnipresent in our world and in our lives,” he explained.
Sam Jacobs also highlighted how Taylor Swift illustrates the relevance of culture. “14 Presidents of the United States of America, five leaders of Russia or the Soviet Union, three Popes. These are the people we consider Person of the Year. (…) ABOUT The purpose of creating governments and construction companies was ultimately to create space for humanity. And the most creative, most exciting, most unifying space for humanity we’ve seen this year has been created by Taylor Swift.”
The singer will perform on May 24 and 25, 2024 at the Estádio da Luz stadium in Lisbon.
