The Israeli Defense Minister has no doubt that the elimination of Hamas will take a long time. “This will take a long period of time, more than several months. But we will defeat and destroy them,” Yoav Gallant assured. At a meeting in Tel Aviv with the White House national security adviser, Gallant recalled that over the past ten years Hamas has built “an infrastructure underground, but also on the surface” and therefore defeating the group will not be an easy task.
The US has called for “more precise” attacks to minimize civilian casualties, after already condemning “indiscriminate bombing”. Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced that it had captured 70 Hamas terrorists during an operation at a hospital in northern Gaza.
