Fernando Valente, the main suspect in the death of Monica Silva, who was pregnant with Murtosa, filed a complaint with the GNR for defamation two weeks after the woman was reported missing.
We are talking about alleged video recordings and statements from Monica’s family about the businessman’s possible intervention in the case. According to Fernando, the statements of the relatives of the missing woman tarnished her image and aroused false suspicions.
Monica Silva, 33, stopped coming to appointments on October 3 after leaving home for an ultrasound. He even called his eldest son and said that he would be home in ten minutes, but did not give any further news.
Fernando Valente is in custody on suspicion of murder, desecration of a corpse and aggravated abortion.
Authorities and family do not believe Monica is still alive. Investigations have already been carried out by the body in several places.
Aveiro Judicial Police (PJ) searched Monica’s body on Friday near a house belonging to the family of her former partner Fernando Valente, near a commercial area. The operations were carried out with the cooperation of the GNR and will resume on Monday.
Manuel Valente, the suspect’s father, was accompanied by a police officer at the search site.
