The PNP has set up a security perimeter in the area where judicial police are searching for the body of Monica Silva, a 33-year-old woman who disappeared in Mourtos on October 3 and whom authorities consider murdered. GNR patrol is on scene day and night to ensure no one gets close and jeopardizes the investigation. Let us remind you that on Friday the police searched a plot of land belonging to the family of Monica’s ex-boyfriend and the main suspect, but the searches were suspended and will resume only tomorrow.
Monica’s mother, Celeste Silva, could not stay away from the searched property and was there this Saturday. Very emotionally, she said that the family was destroyed and that she did not believe that the body was there. “Only he, his father and mother know where the body is. Only they can tell where it is. But they don’t say that,” he stressed, referring to his daughter’s ex-boyfriend Fernando Valente and his family.
Similar comments regarding Fernando Valente, who is in prison for the murder of Monica, prompted the suspect to collect the contents of the interview and video and file a complaint with the GNR da Murtosa for defamation. The complaint was filed two weeks after the woman was reported missing. From the first day, Monica’s aunt, sister and even mother named Fernando as the main suspect in the crime, and this suspicion was later confirmed by the court.
