On Tuesday, the Liberal Initiative president said that whenever river transport is interrupted, users should be compensated.
This Tuesday, Rui Rocha took a river trip between Lisbon and Casillas in the municipality of Almada to draw attention to the restrictions faced by the population crossing this route and to defend financial compensation for passengers corresponding to the days of strikes or crackdowns.
“There is constant instability in services, with many disruptions affecting the population that moves between the south coast and Lisbon. Whenever there is no service, users should be compensated,” he said.
Rui Rocha explained that this measure has already been introduced, for example, in France.
He added that the Liberal Initiative had other structural proposals that included service development, believing this would be a better model.
When asked about the election of Pedro Nuno Santos as secretary general of the PS, Rui Rocha replied that he was promoted despite “poor service to the country.”
“In any company, anyone who decides to pay compensation of 500 thousand euros via Whatsapp, not to mention the condition of the railway and the condition of the housing, for which he is directly responsible, will be unacceptable even for a trainee. PS, after this disservice to the country, he believes that Pedro Nuno Santos is the secretary general he should choose,” he said.
