ELA rejects the Basque budgets and warns that it will continue “organizing social anger”

According to the headquarters, the budgets “have the Urkullu brand: inertia, complacency and propaganda”, and they assure that “it is not true that the budgets are the highest in history”, since it increases 2.7 percent, less than inflation.

The secretary general of THE A, Mitxel Lakuntza, has criticized the budgets of the Basque Government for 2024, considers that “they have the Urkullu brand: inertia, complacency and propaganda”and has warned that the union “will continue organizing anger and social unrest” in the face of a policy that “does not take for granted.”

The ELA leader has reproached the PNV for accusing ELA of creating “artificial social unrest” when Osakidetza gives appointments for a year, “you can’t rent one living place worthy for less than 1000 euros a month, or that a place in a home has an average cost of more than 16,000 euros per year”.

“They are not anyone’s inventions, they are examples of a reality that is the result of the Government’s policies, which are much closer to those who do business with social needs, to economic power, than to solving people’s problems,” has manifested.

According to ELA, “It is not true that the budgets are the highest in history”since it increases 2.7 percent, less than inflation.

“Every year we are told the same story, but that is only half true, because it hides the fact that, in reality, the budget grows even below inflation,” and in the case of Osakidetza “a miserable 0.37%.” “said the member of the union’s Studies Cabinet Aitor Murgia.
