France has delayed a flight to Nicaragua carrying 303 Indian passengers and a judicial investigation has been launched into the conditions and purpose of the trip, local authorities in the eastern Marne region said this Friday, according to a report Reuters.
A unit specializing in organized crime is investigating suspected human trafficking and has detained two people for questioning, the Paris prosecutor’s office said, adding that authorities were tipped off by an anonymous informant.
The flight, operated by Romania’s Legend Airlines, took off from Dubai and landed at the small Vatry airport on Thursday afternoon for a technical stop when police intervened, the Marne mayor’s office said in a statement.
The airline and India’s Ministry of External Affairs did not respond to the company’s requests for comment. Reuters.
