A 48-year-old woman hospitalized for food poisoning in Coimbra died this Monday after spending two weeks in hospital.
According to a hospital source, the woman was hospitalized in critical condition with a “very poor clinical prognosis.”
A family from Condeixa a Nova was hospitalized after eating meatballs.
The woman’s seven-year-old son died on December 11 due to food poisoning.
At the time, the Regional Directorate of Health Center (ARSC) confirmed the poisoning of four members of a family living in Coimbra and announced in a statement an investigation to determine the causes of the poisoning, believed to be caused by meat meal. according to a family source.
“Biological samples were collected from patients in the hospital to determine the cause of poisoning,” the ARSC public health department said in a note.
