Last Thursday, the PNP arrested a 71-year-old man for possession of a prohibited weapon in the town of Mozelos, in Santa Maria da Feira, Aveiro district, the PNP said this Wednesday.
“As part of an investigation into the possession of a prohibited weapon, which lasted approximately two months, members of the Guard conducted police investigations that led to the identification of the suspect,” the PNP said in a statement.
The military conducted six searches: two in residential buildings, two in commercial establishments and two in vehicles, seizing converted firearms, 17 parts of disassembled firearms belonging to a rifle, 130 cartridges and ammunition of various calibers, and a wooden baton. , an ammunition cartridge and 16 packs of unstamped tobacco.
The detainee was named as the accused and the facts were reported to the Judicial Court of Santa Maria da Feira.
