Portugal can now export fresh poultry meat to Israel, but all processes carried out in this first phase will be reviewed once the political situation in the country has “stabilised”, the Directorate General of Food and Veterinary Medicine (DGAV) announced.
“As part of the authorization of Portugal and its operators to export fresh poultry meat to Israel, the DGAV is extending an invitation to all interested operators,” it said in a statement published on Wednesday.
Until January 19, operators wishing to allow their enterprises to export products to this market must inform the relevant regional DGAV services.
The processes to be implemented in this first stage are subject to re-evaluation “after the political situation in Israel has been resolved.”
The DGAV is a central direct public administration service with administrative autonomy.
