The deadline for the second round of applications for the Sustainable Employment Commitment, which aims to promote employment for unemployed people registered with the IEFP, ends this Thursday.
The Sustainable Employment Commitments aim to prevent and combat unemployment and encourage the employment of the unemployed, especially young people and people with disabilities, and encourage and support net job creation.
This measure provides for the provision of financial support to the employer for the permanent employment of unemployed people registered with the IEFP – Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional, corresponding to 12 times the value of the Index of Social Support (IAS), while also providing for an increase. .
In addition, there is financial support for the payment of social security contributions borne by the employer in the first year of supported employment contracts, the value of which is limited to the equivalent of seven times the IAS value.
In April, the Department of Labor said changes had been made to the Sustainable Employment Measure, such as promoting “more immediate access to the measure by unemployed people registered with the IEFP by reducing the registration time (from six to three months).” or “expanding the situations in which it is exempt, especially in the case of young people, allowing faster (re)entry into the labor market.”
With the changes, “the ability to hire former trainees also extends to all companies,” “there is now an express right to temporary protection,” and “a condition for access to a bonus that evaluates contracts with higher remuneration.”
