The Sabugala Chamber has been trying for more than five years to buy a building that, according to the court, already belongs to it

The city council of Sabugal wants to buy a building for 710 thousand euros, which, according to the Accounts Chamber, already belongs to him.

This is the building that the council sold to the local company Dache-Confecções Lda., in 1991. This contract stipulated that the company had “the right to a piece of land” for 50 years. Public.

The court states that since Dacha has been inactive for more than 12 years, the land no longer belongs to it and has returned to the ownership of the Sabugala municipality. However, the SDP-led Sabugal Municipal Executive has been “doing everything and more since 2017” to get the court to approve a loan that would buy land that supposedly already belongs to them.
