Peak fuel prices in Cape Verde fell by an average of 4.49% in January compared to the previous month, the Multi-Sectoral Economic Regulatory Authority (ARME) said.
According to the new price table for regulated petroleum products, which is already in force, the price of diesel will fall by 4.95% to 123 Cape Verdean escudos (about 1.12 euros) per liter, and for gasoline by 4.28% to 132 escudos.
ARME also noted that the price of butane is an exception and is rising, increasing by 0.97%.
As a result, 12.5 kg gas cylinders now cost 1,814 escudos (about 16.45 euros).
Compared to the same period last year (January 2023), the average change in fuel prices corresponds to a decrease of 7.84%.
