A 43-year-old man detained by the Judicial Police (PJ) in Albufeira on suspicion of sexual assault of a minor has been released. A man is accused of several crimes against sexual freedom and self-determination, the victim of which was a young woman from his family circle.
According to the SP, the sexual assaults occurred over a period of three years, starting when the victim was 13 years old. The violence only stopped when the young woman told her mother what was happening and the incident was reported to the authorities.
“The abusive behavior always occurred in an environment controlled by the suspect, particularly within the home where the family lived,” the statement sent to newsrooms said.
The detainee was present at the first judicial interrogation, coercive measures were applied to him, prohibiting any contact with the minor, “and he was also forced to leave his place of residence, settling in another place.”
