In the first half of 2023, 30,697 elective operations were carried out in oncology in public hospitals, equivalent to a 1% decrease compared to the same period in 2022, according to Health Regulatory Authority (ERS) analysis of waiting times in the SNA.
On June 30, more than 7 thousand users were waiting for elective surgery in the Oncology direction, 18% of whom waited longer than the maximum guaranteed response time (TMRG).
During the same period, 4,752 elective operations for cardiovascular diseases were performed in public hospitals, representing an increase of 8% compared to 2022. Of the total users who had heart surgery, 32% received treatment with a wait longer than TMRG. .
