Protests force GNR to postpone New Year’s concert

GNR has postponed without specifying a date its traditional New Year’s concert, which was supposed to take place this Thursday, the government press service confirmed. CM official source of the institution.

This decision is based on protests by the institution’s military personnel and PSP police officers demanding higher wages and material conditions.

The PPR High Command reviewed and investigated CM“Now is not the best time to implement it [do concerto]having decided to postpone it.”

“The focus of the military and civilians who serve in these security forces and their chain of command must (thus) remain entirely directed towards carrying out operational activities as support and guarantor of the Mission in favor of the freedom and security of Portugal. and Portuguese” refers to internal communication in which CM had access.
