The government is proposing to set up an annual program to support the permanent recruitment of qualified young people with salaries equal to or greater than 1,320 euros, as part of the income and competitiveness agreement that was discussed at the Social Dialogue this Thursday.
This measure was already included in the initial version of the government’s proposal under the medium-term agreement on higher incomes, wages and competitiveness, presented on September 28, but at a lower cost (1268 euros).
The new proposal, presented today to the social partners, provides for “the establishment of an annual program to support the permanent recruitment of qualified young people with a salary equal to or greater than 1320 euros, the salary level for graduate entry into the general career of a senior technician (level 16 of the Uniform Pay Table)” .
This measure is part of the task of attracting young people and retaining talent.
In this context, the government also proposes to increase IRS Jovem’s annual income to 50% in the first year, 40% in the second year, 30% in the third and fourth years, and 20% in the fifth year, as well as increase the maximum allowance limits in each year.
In addition, an extraordinary extension of the Regressar program is offered during the term of the agreement.
